Overcoming Difficulties in Daily Life
Buddhism is a psychology of the mind, providing us methods to understand our emotions and how to change our bad habits and thoughts to be happy. Geshe Dhargey shows us how to apply Buddhist practice to overcome difficulties in daily life.
Based on the A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, a famous Mahāyāna Buddhist text written c. 700 AD in Sanskrit verse by Shantideva (Śāntideva), a Buddhist monk at Nālandā Monastic University in India. Treasured by Buddhists of all traditions, The Way of the Bodhisattva (Bodhicharyavatara) is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and to generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. This text has been studied, practiced, and expounded upon in an unbroken tradition for centuries. Presented in the form of a personal meditation in verse, it outlines the path of the Bodhisattvas—those who renounce the peace of individual enlightenment and vow to work for the liberation of all beings and to attain buddhahood for their sake.
Requirements for attending Classes at DNKL In-Person:
- Registration is required to attend as we have a maximum capacity of 10 to meet the requirements for social distancing.
- Masks must be worn at all times and cover both your mouth and nose.
- To attend you must meet the requirements set forth by the CDC & CT related to general protection, travel, exposure guidelines, etc.
