I Me Mine Discover - How We Mistakenly Experience Ourselves and the World And in the Process Find Real and Lasting Happiness
“Everything you see and do and touch and smell isn’t real.”
–George Harrison (from the 1980 book, I Me Mine)
Further, Harrison says about writing the song, “I Me Mine,” (listen here – I ME MINE)
“Having LSD was like someone catapulting me out into space. The LSD experience was the biggest experience that I’d had up until that time…
Suddenly I looked around and everything I could see was relative to my ego, like ‘that’s my piece of paper’ and ‘that’s my flannel’ or ‘give it to me’ or ‘I am’. It drove me crackers, I hated everything about my ego, it was a flash of everything false and impermanent, which I disliked…Who am ‘I’ became the order of the day…
The truth within us has to be realized. When you realize that, everything else that you see and do and touch and smell isn’t real, then you may know what reality is, and can answer the question, ‘Who am I?’
So how do we answer the questions, Who Am I? What is the truth within us? How do we realize it? All questions Mr. Harrison urges us to explore because as he so insistently says, “the truth within us has to be realized.”
Inspired by Mr. Harrison’s song, “I Me Mine,” in this course also called, I Me Mine, we’ll explore ancient wisdom that informs us about who we actually are, which then opens the door to a clear awareness that, as Mr. Harrison puts it, “everything you see and do and touch and smell isn’t real.”
And once we gain that awareness, using specific methods contained in this ancient wisdom, just maybe discover the answer to the question, Who Am I?
Further, in I Me Mine, our exploration and discovery of these methods will give us the ability to transform our daily ordinary moment-by-moment ego centered dualistic experiences into true, lasting, and extraordinary happiness. And in the process lift the vail of our mistaken perception of ourselves and all things, revealing their true nature.
Sounds interesting, right?
So, join me for the I Me Mine course, which will be held in four sessions, starting Sunday, February 6 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, then on February 20, March 6, and finally March 20.
All sessions are free so make some time to attend. I promise you it will be fun to peel back our mistaken understanding of how we experience thing and, in the process, discover how to be truly happy.
