Summer Yoga Series w/Ven. Dhammaloka Thero

Join us for a weekly yoga class led by Venerable Dhammaloka Thero, beginning July 25 through the end of August. Classes will be held inside our air-conditioned temple, providing a peaceful and welcoming space to practice.
This class is open to all experience levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Please bring your own yoga mat and any other items you need to be comfortable. Tea and water will be available for those attending.

Biography
Venerable Kurunegoda Dhammaloka Thero is a Theravāda Buddhist monk originally from Sri Lanka. He received his higher ordination at the Bhikkhu Training Center in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. He holds the prestigious title of Rajakeeya Pandita (Royal Pandit) and earned a Master of Arts Degree in Pali and Buddhist Studies.
In addition to his Buddhist education, Ven. Dhammaloka Thero pursued formal training in Yoga at the renowned Sivananda Dhanvantari Ashram, where he completed both the Yoga Shiromani (Yoga Teacher Training Course) and Yoga Acharya (Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course) certifications.
Ven. Dhammaloka Thero is a dedicated teacher of Buddhism, meditation, and yoga, committed to promoting spiritual well-being, mindfulness, and compassionate living. He is the founder of the South Carolina Buddhist Vihara and Lanka Yoga Village. He also serves as the Founder and President of the United Sangha Council.
Currently, Ven. Dhammaloka Thero is the Abbot of the Hudson Valley Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center, where he provides guidance in Buddhist philosophy, meditation, mindfulness practices, and community service. Through his teaching and leadership, he continues to foster harmony, wisdom, and spiritual growth among diverse communities in the United States, Sri Lanka, and beyond.
