Tibetan Cultural Festival
Come experience Tibetan culture at DNKL on Saturday, October 20, 2018 (rain date: October 21) from 11:00AM until 4:00PM. Sample Tibetan foods, meet Tibetan craftsmen and artists who will demonstrate the elaborate art of Tibetan wood carving and Tongka making. Participate in a prayer flag ceremony, and watch performances of traditional and contemporary Tibetan music and dance.
Learn about the history of Tibetan culture and the challenges it faces today as Lobsang Nyandak, President of the Tibet Fund will speak about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s recommendation to employ the Middle Way to create a peaceful way of life. It is a story of the Tibetan people’s perseverance and resourcefulness through decades of upheaval and exile. It is the story of survival and the preservation of culture and national identity.
Get an early start to holiday shopping as there will be many opportunities to buy Tibetan art and traditional items. We are looking forward to bringing our community together for a very special day of learning about and celebrating Tibetan culture.
